Lecture description
Exploring simple functional buildings that are no longer – or only partially – used for their original purpose provides architectural potential that is still rarely taken advantage of. Two examples of projects – an upper extension and a ‘room-within-a-room’ concept – illustrate how the use of timber construction can help to work with the existing structural principles of such buildings, and what challenges arise in the planning process as a result.
