Lecture description

Mineral- and fossil-based insulation materials currently dominate the market, while biological alternatives play only a minor role. However, in light of climate protection, climate adaptation, and resource conservation, recyclable natural insulation materials are gaining increasing importance. This presentation highlights the need for fully biological insulation materials made from sustainable raw material sources and demonstrates the potential of biogenic residues, e.g., from agriculture or the food industry, as valuable resources for their production.
