The existing building stock is the largest raw-material source we have – if we know how to use it. Conversion instead of demolition, reuse instead of new material: the housing sector faces the question of how mineral building materials must evolve as resources grow scarcer and climate requirements rise – and where the limits of classic materials lie. The panel brings together the perspectives of adaptive reuse, resource-conscious new construction, and the manufacturing industry.
