As the energy landscape shifts toward NMC, LFP, Sodium-ion and Solid-State batteries, traditional battery management systems reach their limits. This talk shows how next-generation Microcontroller Units (MCUs) with on-chip Hardware Accelerators improve battery performance and safety. Intelligent processors enable faster charging and optimized energy use to extend vehicle range. Advanced diagnostics enable cell-level predictions of State of Charge (SOC), State of Health (SOH), anode potentials and internal temperature. Moving beyond voltage monitoring to predictive, AI-driven management, these MCUs unlock the potential of liquid-electrolyte and emerging solid-state batteries.
