Lecture description
Recent advances in the energy transition of the ceramic industry through the development of low-carbon firing solutions are presented. The work focuses on the construction and evolution of hybrid kilns developed by Induzir under a multi-energy-source approach, enabling the flexible integration of electrification and renewable gases for ceramic firing. In parallel, the presentation covers the results of ceramic material firing tests carried out by the Technological Centre for Ceramics and Glass in these systems, with a technical evaluation of material behaviour, energy consumption, and gaseous emissions. All activities are developed within the scope of the ECP Agenda.
