Lecture description

The kreisl Kiste is a pavilion designed by students according to the principle of “form follows availability” and built as a temporary structure on Domplatz in the heart of Münster. Its load-bearing steel sections were salvaged from a high-bay warehouse in Oberhausen, the windows were recovered during the deconstruction of a school in Sprakel, and the façades were created using old fire hoses and LCD screen films. In a panel discussion, stakeholders from across the entire value chain will share how they overcame the challenges of building with reused components. Panelists: Prof. Dr. Anja Rosen, Concept Development and Planning Coordination Prof. Tim Elser, Structural Engineer Marc Blum, Publicly Appointed and Sworn Expert Sebastian Mertens, Rackchecker, Deconstruction Andre Evering, Lücht + Palm, Supplier of Reclaimed Steel Components
