Lecture description

Protein immobilization is a key step in the integration of biocatalysts in industry, but while other fields have incorporated data-driven technologies to speed up development, enzyme immobilization has traditionally remained a slow, empirical process heavily reliant on trial and error.
At inseit, we have changed that. We have developed a rational methodology that replaces old trial-and-error with a targeted approach: in silico design, targeted experimental screening and final validation to develop highly stable biocatalysts. Not only this, but the targeted immobilization facilitates a transition from batch to continuous flow manufacturing while significantly reducing overall development time and improving operational stability.
