Lecture description

Worldwide, one person is diagnosed with blood cancer every 27 seconds. Many patients cannot survive without a life-saving stem cell donation, and the search for suitable donors is always a race against time. The faster a ‘match’ is found, the greater the patient's chances of survival. Once a match has been found, it is crucial that the stem cells reach the patient within a few hours. To guarantee smooth transportation, specially trained onboard couriers and a separate team of experts from time:matters take care of this. DKMS and time:matters have been working together in the fight against blood cancer since 2009.

Would you also like to help save lives? Come by our stand 104 in hall B2 and have yourself registered within a few minutes. Every single registration as a stem cell donor makes an important difference, as it increases the likelihood of finding a suitable match for those affected.

If you are between the ages of 17 and 55-years-old and in general good health, then you may be able to register as a blood stem cell donor. Please find more info here: www.dkms.org
