Lecture description

-Representatives from Italy and Germany will discuss together about sustainable, networked logistics solutions for cross-border freight transport.

Northern Italy is becoming one of the most important logistics hubs in the Mediterranean region. One advantage is the proximity to Central Europe.

The ports of Trieste, Genoa and Venice, together with high-performance terminals in the hinterland, form an integrated system connected to the European road and rail network. This intermodal infrastructure supports sustainable logistics concepts through digitalised processes and numerous connections across the Alps.

The panelists representing infrastructure are Vittorio Torbianelli (Commissioner, Port Authority of the Eastern Adriatic, Trieste), Fulvio Lino Di Blasio (President, Port Authority of the Northern Adriatic, Venice) and Alberto Pozzobon (Marketing Director, Port Authority of the Western Ligurian Sea, Genoa). Representatives of the german  logistic sector are Alessandro Cacciola, CEO of the Andreas Schmidt Group; Heiko Krebs, CEO of Kombiverkehr KG; and Christoph Müller, Paul Hartmann AG's Senior Manager of Freight and Transportation.
