Logistics Real Estate: Energy as a Leverage for Municipal Acceptance?

Logistics real estate is predestined to contribute to the energy transition in municipalities. This is shown by a recent study from the Logistics Real Estate Initiative (Logix). For forwarders, logistics service providers, project developers and shippers who are dependent on a working logistics infrastructure, this could provide an opportunity to win over municipalities with new arguments for logistics sites. After all, municipal heating planning, the electricity and energy transition, infrastructure for e-mobility - the demands on municipalities with regard to climate-neutral energy supply are enormous. Sustainable land allocation, which also takes a new look at logistics, can be a cornerstone for meeting these requirements.

But what requirements need to be met for this - on the municipal side and on the project developer side? What will logistics properties, business parks and energy infrastructure look like in the future and where will they be located? What role can existing properties play in this context? Following a keynote speech on the current Logix study, there will be a discussion on this topic:
