At the Cluster of Excellence PhoenixD, we bring together a broad range of manufacturing technologies to realize a fully integrated micro-optical transmitter on a glass substrate. This interdisciplinary approach combines laser-based structuring, lithography, and precision assembly into one scalable process. We demonstrate how merging these capabilities allows us to achieve highly complex optical functions within a footprint small enough for real-world applications.
The result is a compact prototype that shows the potential of advanced micro-optical manufacturing for future communication networks. Beyond quantum cryptography, the presented methods illustrate how integrated fabrication strategies can drive innovation in other fields.
