Lecture description
As a representative of Lacker Nature, I illustrate how beetle oak develops – from the beetle, which, together with its “family,” establishes a fungal culture inside the tree, to the reasons why this type of wood is becoming increasingly common today. As a regional oak wood, beetle oak must be used promptly in order to limit further infestation and to ensure responsible forest management. The talk highlights why an accepting market is needed and how beetle-related characteristics can be appreciated as an additional design element.
