How can genuine participation be achieved for everyone – including in sport? In this moving panel discussion, players, relatives, club officials and ambassador Tobias Schweinsteiger report on the inclusive football project Team Bananenflanke. The club enables children with intellectual disabilities to play on the pitch with confidence and enjoyment – and in doing so, to experience new ways of mobility, community and independence. Impressive stories, videos and perspectives show how much more football can be: a space for encounters, a place of belonging – and a driver for social change. The session encourages us to recognise barriers – and to break them down together.
