In his capacity as Director of Transport at ADAC e.V., Munich, Stefan Gerwens has been responsible for the club’s fundamental transport policy issues and transport-related management activities since 2017. His tasks also include ADAC road safety and driver safety programmes. He is a member of the commission on transport and climate change on the national Future of Mobility platform.
Between 2003 and joining ADAC, Stefan Gerwens was Managing Director of Berlin-based Pro Mobilität - Initiative für Verkehrsinfrastruktur e.V. (pro mobility – a transport infrastructure initiative), an alliance of federations and businesses across all industries. From 1996 to 2002, he worked as a transport policy officer for the Federation of German Industries (Bundesverband der Deutschen Industrie). Stefan Gerwens studied economics at the universities of Münster and Aberystwyth (Wales).
