We all know and love the beautiful sketches but since every manufacturer has a Design Department, only few understand how the department will continue to evolve in the coming years. New technologies like AI will have a fundamental input on its process and impact on other departments, the evolving skill requirements will re-define the tasks of a creative within the department, and the ever challenging business request from the top level will challenge the future role of within the OEM. Together, we will explore why the design department will take on more responsiblity in the future than any other department in an OEM.
