Florian Schmidt

Florian Schmidt is a Senior Cybersecurity Expert at TÜV SÜD. In his daily work, he audits and tests products, systems, and industrial installations with regard to cybersecurity. He supports companies in implementing security requirements not only in compliance with relevant standards and regulations, but also in a way that can be practically integrated into their development processes. His interdisciplinary background covers specialization in cybersecurity, as well as expertise in functional safety and hands-on experience in product development within the mechanical engineering and automotive sectors. This enables him to understand the requirements and challenges of different stakeholders from firsthand experience and to effectively bridge the gap between development, security, and compliance. He holds a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, and from an early stage, has been fascinated by the intersection of innovative technology, safety, and reliability. Today, he is motivated by helping organizations develop secure and trustworthy products while successfully balancing technical feasibility, regulatory requirements, and business objectives.
