Lecture description

Engineering teams are being asked to validate more complex products in less time, while managing more software, more test systems, and more data. AI has the potential to help, but general-purpose AI without the right technical context can produce answers that are incomplete, difficult to trust, or disconnected from how engineering systems actually work. The opportunity is not AI instead of engineers. It is AI and engineering expertise working together. This presentation looks at how domain-specific AI can support test and validation teams by combining the speed of AI with the technical knowledge and judgment of engineers. Through practical examples, attendees will see how AI can help analyze test data, investigate anomalies, troubleshoot failures, find technical information, optimize lab resources, and automate repetitive work while keeping engineers in control of important decisions. A key part of the discussion will be engineering context. Test data by itself rarely tells the full story. Useful insights also depend on knowing the systems, configurations, software, processes, and history behind that data. Connecting this information gives AI the context it needs to provide more relevant and actionable results. The session will also cover practical ways to introduce AI into existing engineering environments without replacing established tools and workflows. Attendees will leave with a framework for identifying where AI can add value in test and validation, what context it needs to be useful, and where engineering expertise remains essential.
