Quantum computing is a truly fascinating technology and promises a transformative shift in the technological landscape. As it continues to gain momentum, it is reshaping our understanding of computational capabilities and opening new horizons for innovation. The field is rapidly evolving, with multiple players and platforms racing for success. Therefore, it is crucial to assess the maturity of each platform to understand their capabilities, limitations, and potential for real-world applications. This talk, based on research from the QUTAC consortium, will provide an introduction to quantum computing as well as a comprehensive comparison of leading quantum computing platforms. We will look at the architecture and suitable use cases and evaluate the maturity of each platform based on various critical factors. By providing an understanding of the quantum computing landscape, this presentation aims to lay the foundation for informed strategic decisions, guiding stakeholders through the complexities and opportunities of this fascinating field
