Printed piezoelectric sensing solutions for automotive applications

Piezo film sensors are thin, light weight and flexible printed polymer sensors which can be used as dynamic strain gauges, vibration sensors and solid-state switches. Their unique characteristics present opportunities to solve sensing challenges in demanding automotive applications. Interlink Electronics will present an introduction to piezo film sensors and discuss their key properties. These sensors do not require external power, and their high voltage output allows for simple interface electronics. They have a broad frequency band and wide dynamic range. We will also discuss opportunities for their use in emerging automotive applications including low-speed impact sensing amongst others.
