Lecture description
The ramp-up of defence production is one of the central industrial policy challenges of our time. Yet defence is changing fundamentally. Modern systems are increasingly connected, digital and technology-driven, making electronics and software indispensable. Key technologies such as sensors, power electronics, and data-driven systems often originate in the civilian electrical and digital industry and are further developed for military applications. At the same time, the defence market is characterised by high entry barriers and demanding requirements. This presentation explores the industry’s contribution, key indicators for assessing whether market entry is commercially viable, and the role of the ZVEI Platform Security and Defence.
