Lecture description
Solder mask is often regarded as a necessary manufacturing step. However, additive processes enable a shift in perspective: the solder mask evolves into an active design element for modern printed circuit boards. This presentation demonstrates how the additive solder mask s.mask creates new degrees of freedom for PCB designers. Through precise, application-specific deposition, it enables higher component densities, more efficient utilization of available board space, and the implementation of demanding design concepts. At the same time, this approach contributes to more resource-efficient electronic products and supports the sustainability goals of the electronics industry.
