Lecture description

Ethernet is a stunning success, starting with its 1970s early multi-drop solutions to today’s high-speed point to point bridged networks. While Industrial Ethernet, the Automation Industries adaptation of Ethernet, builds on technologies and successes of Ethernet everywhere, it added a twist to the Ethernet architectures – Line and Ring topologies. Why were these topologies so important? Why do they still matter? And how will topologies in Industrial Ethernet evolve, specifically in the light of new technologies coming to Industrial Ethernet – APL (Advanced Physical Layer), Single Pair Ethernet (SPE) and Single Pair Power over Ethernet (SPoE)?
Join us to discuss and explore the future of Industrial Ethernet.
