Lecture description

“What is this Yocto? How do I maintain a real product with it?”
These are frequently asked questions in embedded Linux, and the Yocto Project more specifically.
The requirements of real use cases are for example
- Maintenance time scale
- License compliance
- Reproducibility
- Software deployments / OTA
Of particular importance to note here is that these requirements often need to be handled in Yocto in a way that is different from traditional Linux distributions!
We will look at the features and techniques which the Yocto Project offers to cover these demands, and how they are best harnessed to create embedded Linux products, teaming up with Mender as a robust OTA and device management solution.
