Lecture description

Running Ai on the Edge rather than in the Cloud has distinct advantages such as improved real-time behavior, robustness and lower OPEX. However, the related platforms need to meet the operational environment and equipment practice of the Edge location. Depending on whether the Edge is the Network Edge, an on-premise installation in the IT domain (Near Edge), in the OT domain (Far Edge) or integrated into equipment directly (Device Edge), different requirements apply – making the platform choice a difficult exercise. The session aims at providing guidance on how to select the platform for the edge deployments.
