Factory and building owners are converging IT based tools with industrial operations to meet sustainability and operational goals.
Ethernet communication extends further into industrial environments to edge devices because it offers an upgrade from legacy field bus with higher bandwidth, faster installation, real-time control, and modern cybersecurity while allowing ubiquitous access to data. Single-pair Ethernet offers the additional benefit of reuse of existing cabling infrastructure.
Platformization of IoT systems is on the rise to minimize SKU’s, reduce design time and cybersecurity risk. Software configurability of I/O is critical, as the quantity and type vary from device to device
