Lecture description

Dynamic developments in advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and autonomous driving (AD) fuel the demand for much more capable ADAS sensors. 28nm RFCMOS single-chip SoCs enable accurate detection and separation of small objects both far away and in urban scenarios. High-resolution 4D imaging radar technology delivers a high-density point cloud generating a detail-rich, image-like representation of the vehicle’s environment and enabling features like radar-based object classification or free-space mapping.
Distributed radar sensor networks will open up new possibilities leveraging data from radar sensors placed all around the vehicle providing a seamless 360-degree surround view.
