Lecture description
Lighting is rapidly and continuously evolving to improve safety and driving comfort. At the same time, it is a key element in the vehicle design for OEM branding. This happens in parallel to the rethinking of the whole E/E architecture and therefore, opening the door to optimized communication protocols. CAN FD light enables to address LED and OLED clusters while simplifying the overall lighting system.
In this presentation the CAN FD light protocol and its benefits will be introduced. CAN FD light has already been designed for lighting applications such as rear taillight or front grill illumination, yet its potential goes much beyond as it can be used to control remotely any actuator.
