Lecture description

Additive manufacturing is opening new pathways for technical ceramics in advanced industrial production, enabling applications that demand extreme thermal, chemical, mechanical, and functional performance. While ceramic AM has long attracted interest for prototyping, it is now increasingly being deployed in real manufacturing environments across aerospace, medical, electronics, energy, and industrial tooling.

This round table brings together technology developers and industrial users to discuss how ceramic additive manufacturing is moving from capability to production reality. Through concrete examples—from ceramic casting cores and high-temperature components to patient-specific medical implants—the panel will explore what ceramic AM enables today, what it takes to industrialize it, and where its limitations still lie.

Moderated by Davide Sher, CEO of VoxelMatters, the discussion will focus on design freedom versus manufacturing discipline, scalability and qualification, and the role of automation, software, and materials in enabling reliable production. Short visual introductions from each speaker will set the stage for a dynamic, application-driven conversation aimed at industrial decision-makers and engineers.
