The shift to alternative fuels, especially battery electric vehicles (BEVs), marks a significant change. While BEVs don’t pose a higher fire risk than conventional vehicles, the risks are different and demand specialized expertise. Drawing on 20+ years in the Swedish Fire and Rescue Service and his role at Dafo Vehicle, focusing on alternative fuel safety, Tommy Carnebo will explore the unique challenges of BEV fires. As an EU fire safety advisor, he will also provide regulatory insights. This lecture covers BEV fire risks, the importance of training, and risk management strategies, offering practical and theoretical tools for a safer future.
