Lecture description

Imagine being a dozer operator in a Canadian mine, where temperatures can drop to -40°C, or in northern Brazil, where temperatures close to 50°C are the norm. Would you operate an excavator on one of the riskiest dams in Latin America, at risk of collapsing? The answer is no, right?
In this lecture, we’ll explore how the mining industry is changing to bring more safety and comfort to operators, while also attracting the younger generation to this role. We'll also delve into why, despite the initial excitement around autonomous solutions in 2010, many mines opted for remote operations instead.
Join me to discover how the mining landscape is adapting to this not-so-new reality.
