The operation of construction machinery requires drive systems in a wide power range and appropriately dimensioned, mobile energy storage systems. At the same time, the functional requirements of different construction machines and construction processes as well as the energy supply options on construction sites are very different. Therefore, in contrast to the automotive sector, there can be no 'one fits all solution'. The decarbonisation of construction machinery must be implemented, machine manufacturers want to make their contribution - but which technology should be used? The presentation obviously cannot answer this question, but attempts to provide some guidance in this broad field.
