Oana Stănescu

Sie ist Mitbegründerin des Projekts Plus Pool in New York und gründete zuletzt das interdisziplinäre Studio Blueprints of Justice am MIT in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Legal Design Lab der Stanford University und Virgil Abloh. Sie hat unter anderem an der Harvard University, der Columbia University, der Princeton University, der UCLA und der Architectural Association gelehrt und Vorträge gehalten. Ihre Projekte regen dazu an, unsere Beziehung zur gebauten Umwelt zu überdenken und Möglichkeiten für urbane Räume zu erkunden, die Lebensqualität und Nachhaltigkeit in den Vordergrund stellen. Zu ihren Arbeiten gehören die Wiederbelebung einer Standseilbahn in Reșița, Rumänien, Einzelhandelsgeschäfte für Virgil Ablohs Modelabel Off White und Installationen im Museum of Modern Art in New York, auf dem Coachella-Musikfestival 2022 und auf dem Concéntrico International Festival of Architecture and Design 2023 in Logroño, Spanien. // Oana Stănescu founded her eponymous design studio in New York in 2018. She is co-founder of the Plus Pool project in New York and most recently founded the interdisciplinary studio Blueprints of Justice at MIT in collaboration with the Legal Design Lab at Stanford University and Virgil Abloh. She has taught and lectured at Harvard University, Columbia University, Princeton University, UCLA and the Architectural Association, among others. Her projects encourage us to rethink our relationship with the built environment and explore possibilities for urban spaces that prioritize livability and sustainability. Her work includes the revitalization of a funicular railroad in Reșița, Romania, retail stores for Virgil Abloh's fashion label Off White and installations at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Coachella Music Festival 2022 and the Concéntrico International Festival of Architecture and Design 2023 in Logroño, Spain.
