In the Alfons-Bayerer-Straße residential quarter in Regensburg dating from the 1960s, the solitary high-rise residential building was renovated. As part of this refurbishment, the energy supply was partially converted to renewable energy. Additionally, a study investigated the potential to fully supply the district with renewable energy.
The high-rise building was fitted with a fully deconstructable façade with a high proportion of secondary raw materials. In addition, over 600 m² of colored BIPV modules were integrated into the façade.
