The increasing standards in residential construction often result in neither achieving the predicted consumption values nor ensuring high user satisfaction. The "Simply Building" concept focuses on constructing robust buildings with moderate energy consumption despite reduced standards. The mixed-methods study of the three research houses in Bad Aibling demonstrates that resource-efficient and low-tech homes can provide sufficient user satisfaction.
