The construction sector is facing challenges such as environmental pollution, high costs and a shortage of skilled workers, which make sustainable and efficient construction more difficult. The presentation will focus on the multi-award-winning, sustainable P18 residential quarter in Stuttgart. In a record-breakingly short construction time, a recyclable residential quarter for the employees of Stuttgart Hospital was built here from resource- and energy-efficient timber modules, with Stuttgarter Wohnungs- und Städtebaugesellschaft mbH (SWSG) as the client. Thanks to the innovative modular timber construction method, material consumption and CO₂ emissions were significantly reduced. The presentation is intended to provide answers as to what building with serially produced modules could look like in the future.
