Lecture description

Designing the built environment in a socially, economically and ecologically just way is a major social responsibility for all planners. How can we counter the scarcity of resources in the construction industry and achieve a fully circular economy? These important questions are addressed by international experts from research and practice in the publication ‘Building with Renewable Materials - Nature as a Store of Raw Materials’, edited by Dirk E. Hebel, Sandra Böhm and Elena Boerman and published by Fraunhofer IRB Verlag. Examples of projects with a particular focus on the use of renewable building materials suitable for circular use offer inspiration for planning and building, while positive incentives and food for thought show possible ways to build in harmony with nature.
