Flexible, fast, sustainable: modular construction as a solution for current challenges

The presentation highlights the potential of serial construction with industrially prefabricated components as a response to current challenges such as a shortage of skilled labour and rising costs. It compares historical large housing estates with modern approaches and highlights advantages such as optimised manufacturing processes, shorter construction times and fl exibility. Examples of possible applications in residential, offi ce and school construction are presented. The focus is on modular and elementised construction as forward-looking solutions for sustainable and efficient building.
