In a country where forests cover 50% of the territory, wood construction is deeply embedded in local traditions. The industrial production of prefab timber buildings began already in the 1950s and has seen rapid development in the past 20 years, becoming one of the key industries in Estonia and making the country the leading exporter of prefabricated timber buildings in the EU.
