Lecture description

GIMA combines traditional brick production with sustainable, innovative techniques. Our new clay blocks, manufactured without a firing process, stand for considerable energy savings. With locally sourced clay, we rely on short transportation routes and avoid imports and unnecessary journeys. Clay masonry is jointed with clay mortar and plastered with clay plaster. This means that 100% of the clay block can be returned to the raw material cycle.  We have based the design on conventional masonry brick formats, thus it can be processed just as efficiently and quickly. With our vertically perforated clay brick, we want to create a industrially producible and therefore affordable building material that, as a purely natural product made from 100% clay, also meets the highest sustainability requirements.
