Tjerk Timan is a project manager for collaborative research projects at CT-IPC, a mid-sized research & technology centre in the greater Lyon area in France. Here he works on projects in the field of smart industry, human-centred digitisation and data sharing. He is responsible for setting up research consortia, developing novel concepts and bid-writing as well as innovation management and technology transfer in the areas of circularity and digitisation, with a focus on data spaces and the role of AI in the transformation of work. Recent prior positions include Principal Consultant at Technopolis Group Belgium and Senior Scientist at TNO, The Netherlands. He received a PhD from the University of Twente, The Netherlands in 2013.
