Marta Portales is the Head of European Projects at Mobile World Capital Barcelona, a role she has held since November 2019, where she leads a dynamic team of project managers, communication executives, in-house consultants, and freelancers. Her department oversees a diverse portfolio of impactful EU-funded initiatives, including RobotUnion, IMPACT Connected Car, IMPACT Growth, L4MS, NGI Move, 5GMED, I4MS-4TS, Better Factory, NGI Sargasso, Circuloos, and EIT Urban Mobility. Parallel to her work at MWCapital, Marta is a dedicated researcher and teacher at the Journalism Department of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona since October 2013, lecturing on topics such as data journalism, media literacy, and social media content creation. She also holds a PhD in Communication and Journalism from the same university, awarded Cum Laude for her research on "Media Literacy and New Digital Environments."
