Dr. Jad Nasreddine

Biography

Dr. Jad Nasreddine is an expert in radio communication with over 20 years of experience in the telecommunications industry and academy. He is presently Senior Researcher at i2CAT Foundation, Spain. Between 2015 and 2021, he was Associate Professor at Rafik Hariri University, Lebanon. Before, he was working as RAN/Core product manager at Mobinets, Lebanon, senior researcher at the RWTH Aachen University, Germany, post-doctoral researcher at IMT Atlantique, France and BarcelonaTech, Spain. He received his Ph.D. degree in 2005 from University of Rennes I. Dr. Nasreddine has been acting as technical project manager and work package leader for industrial and EU projects in addition to being heavily involved in 9 EU projects, 8 national projects, standardization bodies, and contributed to the preparation of EU project proposals. In these projects, he studied and proposed pragmatic and theoretical solutions for wireless network problems ranging from architectural to algorithmic and implementation problems. He has also been developing and instructing a variety of courses and laboratories on computer science, telecommunication systems, and AI in addition to supervising Bachelor, Master, and PhD theses. Dr. Nasreddine served as track chair, associated editor, TPC and reviewer for several conferences and journals. He is also the author of over 80 technical papers. His research interests include architecture and frameworks for 5G/6G networks, V2X communication, cognitive and heterogeneous networks, spectrum and radio resource management, opportunistic access and cooperative networks, stochastic and context-based techniques, propagation models, and machine learning applications.
