Dr. Patrick Courtney is a seasoned expert in laboratory automation, robotics, and technology integration, with over 20 years of industrial experience. He has held leadership roles at global firms including PerkinElmer, Sartorius, and Cap Gemini, and has worked with start‑ups and SMEs in the life science and healthcare sectors. Dr. Courtney holds a PhD in Robotic Engineering and Molecular Biology as well as an MBA, and is named on more than 100 publications and ten patents. He co‑leads a European working group on analytical laboratory robotics and serves as a Director and Board Member of the SiLA Consortium (Standards in Laboratory Automation), where he advocates for interoperability and innovation in digital laboratory environments.
