Brendan Rouse is a sustainability expert who has overseen the delivery of sustainability programmes in healthcare, corporate real estate and life science research. He is currently the Head of Sustainability at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) based in Heidelberg but covering laboratories in the UK, France, Spain and Italy. Prior to this he was a Sustainability Manager for Landsec, recognised as Europe’s most sustainable real estate company which operates in the office and retail space in the UK. Brendan started his career as Sustainability Manager at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children in London, where he developed and delivered an award winning sustainability programme. Brendan has an MSc in Sustainable Resource Management from TU Munich and a BSc in Environmental Science from the University of Manchester. He is an EU Climate Pact Ambassador and a Certified Energy Manager.
