Biography
Shani Perera is a Technical specialist at the Cambridge Stem Cell Institute, University of Cambridge, working in the Teichmann Lab. Her research focuses on applying spatial transcriptomics and multi-omics approaches to understand cellular heterogeneity and immune–stromal interactions in cardiovascular disease, particularly coronary atherosclerosis. She has extensive expertise in histology, spatial genomics technologies including 10x Visium and Xenium, and high-plex spatial proteomics platforms. Her work contributes to the Human Cell Atlas initiative and aims to generate high-resolution spatial maps of diseased human tissues to better understand disease mechanisms and therapeutic targets.
