Prof. Dr. Mark Bücking is food chemist by training and has been working in applied research in Germany and the Netherlands for more than 25 years. He has been headingthe Department of Trace Analysis and Environmental Monitoring at the Fraunhofer IME since 2004. His work focuses on the trace analysis of volatile compounds, residues and contaminants. He is also heading the office of the Fraunhofer Agriculture and Food Industry Alliance, a cluster of 14 Fraunhofer institutes. He is active on various national and international committees, has authored more than 80 scientific papers and holds teaching positions at three universities.
