Prof. Dr. Ralf Brederlow

Germany
Technical University Munich

Biography

Prof. Ralf Brederlow‘s (*1970) research interests are integrated CMOS circuit designs and intelligent sensor systems. By deploying innovative analog and digital integrated circuits, architectures, and principles of artificial intelligence to sensor systems, precision, versatility, and flexibility of such sensor system is enhanced. Ralf Brederlow has studied physics at university of Wuerzburg and TU Munich. He did his doctor in electrical engineering in a cooperation of Corporate Research of Siemens AG and the TU Berlin. In 1999 he joined Infineon as development engineer and project manager towards analog circuit-, sensor, and technology concepts for microelectronics. Since end of 2006 he joined Texas Instruments in Freising, where he started as group lead for analog design and later became a manager and technical lead for all integrated circuit development for an energy optimized micro-controller product family (MSP430). In 2015 he founded and then led a research team at Texas Instruments (Kilby Labs) exploring intelligent sensor circuits. In April 2019, Prof. Brederlow established the Chair of Circuit Design at TUM, with research focus on integrated sensor and sensor interface circuits and energy-efficient circuit and system design for artificial intelligence in sensing. Currently, he has is also a research-fellow at the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits (IIS).
