Prof. Dr. Michal Ciborowski

Prof. Michal Ciborowski is a full professor of medical sciences and Head of the Department of Medical Biochemistry at the Medical University of Bialystok, where he also leads the Metabolomics and Proteomics Laboratory. His research focuses on mass spectrometry–based metabolomics applied to clinical samples, particularly in cardiovascular, metabolic, cancer, and rare diseases. He specializes in developing analytical methods, data integration, and biomarker discovery for translational research. His publication record includes co authorship of over 140 papers indexed in the Web of Science and an h index of 26. He has received multiple awards for scientific achievements, including the individual (2017) and team (2024) Awards of the Polish Minister of Health, the M. Wierzuchowski Distinction of the Polish Diabetes Association for outstanding research in diabetology, and several awards from the Rector of the Medical University of Bialystok. Since 2021, he has been President of the Polish Metabolomics Society.
