Biography

Christian Krupitzer is currently a tenure-track professor and leads the Department of Food Informatics at the University of Hohenheim in Stuttgart, Germany. Before that, he was a postdoctoral researcher and led the Internet-of-things and Cyber-physical Systems group at the Chair of Software Engineering of the University of Würzburg. He got his PhD from the University of Mannheim in 2018. In his Ph.D. thesis, he developed the FESAS Framework to simplify and support the development of self-adaptive systems. His background lies in adaptive software systems, a subfield of artificial intelligence. He was mainly working in software engineering topics, such as how to integrate machine learning into industrial food processing for adaptive process control. Further, he works in the field of digital (food) twins. His research focuses on the digitalization of food processing in a holistic approach, including the food supply chain, traders/distributors, and consumers. He has over 100 publications, including journal/conference papers, book chapters, and scientific magazine articles.
