Prof. Dr. Abdurrahman Coşkun

Dr. Abdurrahman Coşkun earned his MD from Erciyes University School of Medicine in 1994 and completed his specialization in Biochemistry and Clinical Biochemistry at the same institution in 1999. He joined the Acıbadem Healthcare Group in 2008 and was appointed Full Professor of Biochemistry and Clinical Biochemistry at Acıbadem University in 2014. Dr. Coşkun’s research focuses on biological variation, reference intervals, measurement uncertainty, personalized laboratory medicine, mathematical modeling, and quality improvement in clinical laboratories. He serves as a Member-at-Large of the European Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (EFLM), and acts as an expert consultant to the EFLM Biological Variation Committee, the Biological Variation Database Technical Committee, and the Value-Score for Clinical Laboratories Committee. He also chairs the EFLM Committee on the Practical Guide to Implement Measurement Uncertainty and is a member of the International Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (IFCC) Task Force on the Global Reference Interval Database (TFGRID). Dr. Coşkun has received multiple prestigious awards, including the EFLM Award for Achievements in Advancing Laboratory Medicine in Europe (Roche, 2023) and the EFLM Award for Excellence in Outcomes Research in Laboratory Medicine (Abbott Diagnostics) in both 2021 and 2025. He has authored more than 170 peer-reviewed publications in leading international journals.
